Introducing the Njord MW SXGA T2SL detector

In a true milestone for IRnova, we today announce our first SXGA detector, the Njord MW SXGA T2SL. Featuring a 1280x1024 pixel resolution at a pitch of 10 µm, and based on the world-leading T2SL technology that has become the trademark of IRnova, it delivers performance like no other detector on the planet.

The secret of the Njord MW’s performance lies in the advanced design of its Type-II Superlattice (T2SL) structure. By capturing the full MWIR spectrum (3-5 µm), it achieves NETD numbers below 30 mK, even in an F/4 configuration, providing unbelievably sharp image clarity and detail.

And to top it off, the Njord MW operates at HOT temperatures, enabling a small-SWaP package perfect for gimbals, goggles, and compact integrations.

The rotary SWaP variant is available for order now. A split linear version is scheduled for a Q2 release, with official unveiling within the next 1-2 months (but we already accept orders). Additionally, a long-life version is planned for Q4 2025.

Like all our detectors, it is available with an EvalKit option for quick evaluation. We will also be showcasing it at SPIE DCS in April.
